Key Responsibilities

Are you seeking a chance to apply your robust psychological and clinical evaluation expertise within a collaborative team of professionals dedicated to positively impacting the lives of children, adolescents, and families? If so, we invite you to consider this opportunity. The Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC) is designed for youth aged 12-17 facing various emotional, psychological, mental health, and behavioral challenges. You will play a vital role in enhancing programming and services, which will include the application of the Neuro-sequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT).

As a Psychologist, you will collaborate with fellow Psychologists throughout the Provincial Campus Based Care (PCBC). Your responsibilities will encompass, but are not limited to:

Engaging closely with a Multi-Disciplinary Team to develop and execute individualized treatment plans while ensuring appropriate monitoring mechanisms are established. Utilizing your strong assessment skills, you will perform psychological evaluations that involve interviewing youths to assess their mental condition and making provisional diagnoses, where relevant, along with recommendations for further evaluation and/or treatment. Identifying effective strategies and employing a range of therapeutic methods for individual, group, and family therapy sessions. This position may also entail a supervisory aspect where you will oversee Psychologist 1's, University Practicum Students, and provisional Psychologists, ensuring the delivery of optimal service in line with the role's parameters. You will have the opportunity to assist staff in enhancing their practice approaches, analyzing information, and integrating theory/research into practice.

To excel in this role, you must exhibit strong leadership and critical thinking abilities, along with the capacity to thrive in a multi-disciplinary environment. You will possess relevant theoretical knowledge of childcare practices, assessment, treatment, and behavioral management, and leverage your exceptional written and verbal communication skills to foster effective relationships with others.
