Role Overview:
The Project Manager plays a crucial role in supporting the delivery team in the planning and design/construction phases of new stations along the Kitchener corridor, with a focus on the upcoming Woodbine Station. This station is strategically located within a future Transit Oriented Community and is anticipated to accommodate a substantial daily passenger volume, bolstered by extensive train services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Project Management team in collaboratively delivering activities for Woodbine Station, including the development of plans, schedules, and budget documents to ensure optimal project coordination.
- Establish objectives and oversee activities during the project's development phase in collaboration with technical and construction teams.
- Manage the Due Diligence and Inspection (DD&I) process and schedule to ensure design requirements are met.
- Identify and administer site work plans, construction access, and flagging requests.
- Drive the integration of all disciplines involved in the design and execution of the project.
- Monitor critical paths and milestones, reporting regularly to management on project status, including budget, schedule, scope, and quality.
- Promote a safe and healthy work environment, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Applied Science, Engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Progressive experience in providing comprehensive engineering and project management services related to the planning, design, and construction of transit facilities and station infrastructure.
- Proficiency in project management principles, including budget and schedule controls, to lead cross-functional teams and consultants on simultaneous projects.
- Strong understanding of civil and architectural design and construction principles.
