Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Wet Utilities Coordinator to join our team at Ontario Transit Group. As a key member of our project team, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing utility relocations, supervising field engineering and construction activities, and assisting in the technical review of project designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage utility relocations, including water, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and district heating and cooling systems.
  • Supervise and coordinate field engineering and construction activities to ensure compliance with utility asset owner and/or utility authority design criteria and applicable specifications and standards.
  • Assist in the technical review of project designs to ensure that utility-related issues are addressed and that designs comply with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Participate in meetings with internal and external design teams to discuss project designs and utility-related issues.
  • Develop contractual strategies to facilitate utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts.
  • Assist in the analytical review and evaluation of costs and risks associated with utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts.
  • Advise project staff on issues that require resolution within construction contracts to ensure full coordination and compliance with standing agreements and/or standards with utility asset owners.
  • Contribute to the development of a construction plan and manage subcontractor activities to ensure that project plans and schedules are followed and that the project is executed effectively and within budget.
  • Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost estimates for utility relocations and/or the integration of utility work into construction contracts.
  • Attend meetings with clients, municipal agencies, and other consultants as required to discuss project designs and utility-related issues.
  • Take the lead on productivity issues and monitor work performance and efficiency of subcontractors to ensure that project plans and schedules are followed and that the project is executed effectively and within budget.
  • Track and collect documentation for extra work, submittals, and backup for billing purposes.
  • Track and document project schedule activity, start, finish, % complete, and major milestones.
  • Oversee SUE investigations and condition survey tasks.
  • Perform other related administrative or project-based duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • University degree or college diploma in Civil Engineering, Municipal Engineering, or a similar field.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience with preparing technical drawings and technical reports.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, experience with GIS and other digital tools would be an asset.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Collaborative personality and strong sense of teamwork.
  • Confident and positive attitude.
