Position Overview:

The End-of-Line Engineer for Propulsion Systems plays a crucial role in collaborating with design and production teams within manufacturing environments.

This position requires close interaction with the lead Client and Pack Integration DRE, software developers, technical experts, and plant staff to guarantee the effective integration of the Battery Management System into battery pack assembly and vehicle applications.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate Client calibrations.
  • Conduct Battery End-of-Line testing and assist in diagnosing issues, ensuring prompt resolution.
  • Engage in problem-solving initiatives by analyzing EOL data using Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant diagnostic tools, along with visual inspections.
  • Contribute to the drafting of EOL tester modification requests.
  • Support change management processes and establish clean points, which may involve part relabeling or offline re-flashing as necessary.
  • Define and document new requirements, best practices, and lessons learned, guided by Client engineering.
  • Assist in vehicle triage and systems-level troubleshooting of the battery pack on the assembly line, while also being flexible to address field issues.
  • Exhibit expertise in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release DVP activities.
  • Investigate functional models to identify root causes and document controls and software issues that impede calibration progress. Conduct both virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each vehicle program milestone.
  • Collaborate with the center of competency to address functional area issues, ensuring adherence to calibration best practices and methodologies.
  • Support vehicle fleet and logistics operations.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with experience in manufacturing or equivalent education in manufacturing principles.
  • A blend of business acumen, analytical skills, and problem-solving abilities to swiftly define solutions within specific applications.
  • Proficient in data acquisition and familiar with development diagnostic tools and data acquisition systems: INCA, Vector tools: CANalyzer.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and maintain a proactive approach.
  • Knowledgeable in application engineering principles.
  • Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset.
  • Several years of industry experience.

Language Proficiency:
Advanced English

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with High Voltage Battery systems or High Voltage powertrains.
  • Familiarity with electronic system-level troubleshooting and embedded controls/complex function root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of diagnostic fundamentals.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, and other electrical root cause analysis tools (e.g., oscilloscopes).
Additional Requirements:
Onsite presence is necessary, and driving a Client vehicle is required. Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings and training.
