Position Overview:

The End-of-Line Engineer for Propulsion Systems plays a crucial role in supporting design and release teams within manufacturing and assembly environments.

This position requires close collaboration with the lead Client and Pack Integration Design Release Engineer, software developers, technical experts, and manufacturing personnel to ensure the effective implementation of the Battery Management System in both battery pack assembly and vehicle integration.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and validate Client calibrations.
  • Conduct Battery End-of-Line testing and assist in troubleshooting, documenting issues for resolution.
  • Facilitate problem-solving efforts by analyzing End-of-Line data using diagnostic tools such as Vector CAN tools, INCA, or plant testing equipment, as well as through visual inspections.
  • Assist in drafting change requests for End-of-Line testers.
  • Support change control processes and establish clean points, which may involve part relabeling or off-line re-flashing as necessary.
  • Establish and document new requirements, best practices, and lessons learned, with guidance from Client engineering teams.
  • Aid in vehicle triage and systems-level troubleshooting of the battery pack on the assembly line, with flexibility to address field issues as they arise.
  • Demonstrate expertise in data collection, post-processing, and analysis during calibration release Development Validation Plan activities.
  • Analyze functional models to identify root causes and document controls and software issues that impede calibration progress, performing both virtual and in-vehicle testing to achieve calibration maturity at each vehicle milestone.
  • Collaborate closely with the center of competency to address functional area issues, integration challenges, and adhere to calibration best practices and methodologies.
  • Support vehicle fleet and logistics activities.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering with experience in manufacturing or equivalent education in manufacturing principles.
  • A blend of business acumen, analytical skills, and problem-solving capabilities to swiftly define solutions within specific applications.
  • Experience with data acquisition and proficiency in using diagnostic and data acquisition tools, including INCA and Vector tools like CANalyzer.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and maintain a proactive approach.
  • Proficiency in application engineering principles.
  • Detail-oriented with a process-driven mindset.
  • Several years of industry experience.

Language Proficiency:
Advanced English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • Experience with High Voltage Batteries or High Voltage powertrains, along with knowledge of electronic system-level troubleshooting and embedded controls/root cause analysis.
  • Understanding of diagnostic fundamentals.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with INCA, CDA, CAN, CANalyzer, Canoe, and other electrical root cause analysis tools (such as oscilloscopes).
Additional Requirements:
Onsite presence is required, and driving a Client vehicle is mandatory. Occasional travel may be necessary for meetings and training.
