About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Paralegal to join our team in the Legal Services Division of the Department of Justice. As a Paralegal, you will provide critical support to lawyers in the conduct of various stages of litigation, including case and file management, document preparation, and research.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collect, prepare, organize, and process legal documentation
  • Assist litigators with pleadings, motions, discoveries, pre-trial procedures, and trials
  • Maintain legal databases, including coding, indexing, and characterization of evidence and information
  • Search and retrieve documents and information
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of paper and electronic data
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Completion of a 2-year paralegal technology course from a recognized institution
  • 6 years of progressively responsible experience supporting a lawyer in their practice
  • Highly developed computer skills, including document management software, Microsoft Office Package, and Adobe software
  • Experience working with a litigation support database and e-discovery software
  • Strong initiative, judgment, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines
