Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Body Technician to join our team at NEW MIDWEST AUTO COLLISION INC.. This position involves working in a dynamic environment where attention to detail and craftsmanship are paramount.

Employment Details

QualificationsEducation
  • Completion of a trades certificate or diploma in automotive body repair
  • Equivalent experience may be considered
Experience
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in automotive body repair
Work Environment
  • Exposure to dusty, noisy conditions with potential odours
  • Relocation costs are not covered by the employer; candidates must be willing to relocate
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver exceptional customer service with professionalism
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Guide and instruct apprentices in repair techniques
  • Replace and repair body components, including front end parts, doors, and frames
  • Prepare surfaces for painting by filing, grinding, and sanding
  • Mask and tape surfaces to ensure quality paint application
  • Repair dents and defects using appropriate tools
  • Remove and replace damaged parts, ensuring proper installation
  • Apply primers and repaint surfaces to restore appearance
  • Repair or replace interior components as needed
  • Handle damaged windows and windshields with care
  • Mix and match paint colors for a seamless finish
  • Utilize soldering equipment and plastic fillers for repairs
  • Straighten bent frames using specialized equipment
Certifications
  • Motor Vehicle Body Repairer Trade Certification
  • Motor Vehicle Body Repairer Red Seal Endorsement
  • Auto Body Repairer Trade Certification
