Your Opportunity:
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) serves as an integral member of the rural healthcare team, working collaboratively to deliver holistic and comprehensive care tailored to the needs of individuals, families, and communities within their competency level. The patient demographic encompasses a range of scenarios including emergency care, pre and post-operative support, pediatric care, senior health, palliative services, labor and delivery, as well as postpartum care. The LPN is responsible for providing leadership in nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care aimed at promoting, maintaining, or restoring health, preventing illness, injury, and disability, or facilitating a peaceful end-of-life experience. The LPN delivers care across the lifespan, addressing various health stages and complexities of illness. The ideal candidate will ensure the provision of safe and effective nursing care in accordance with established hospital policies and nursing standards.
Description:
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will offer a diverse range of nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, while prioritizing their safety and well-being. In this role, you will employ nursing processes that involve critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, alongside teaching, counseling, and advocating for patients and their families. You will assume a leadership position in fostering an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance. Your commitment will be to deliver safe, quality, patient-centered care that reflects the shared vision and values of Alberta Health Services.
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Licensed Practical Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
Additional Required Qualifications: Preferred Qualifications:
- Current PALS certification.
- Current ENPC & TNCC certifications (within 4 years).
- ACCN certification.
- Recent experience in rural nursing.
- Experience in a day surgery unit and familiarity with post-procedural sedation and anesthesia.
