We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care in the operating room and endoscopy procedure room.
Key Responsibilities- Provide perioperative patient care using the nursing process in accordance with CRNA, ORNAC, and CSA standards of practice.
- Deliver safe, effective, and efficient care in both scrub, circulating, and recovery roles as an integral part of the surgical team.
- Meet the physical demands of the position, including lifting, pulling, and pushing, walking, standing, transferring, and transporting patients and equipment frequently.
- Provide safe care throughout the patient stay in the surgical suite.
- Promote the professional role and evaluate own professional education and clinical practice standards.
- Practice using evidence-based measures and outcomes.
- Act as a patient advocate and provide a link between the units and operating room.
- Draw on a unique body of nursing knowledge.
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- If you have not practiced as a Registered Nurse within the last five (5) years, completion of the following free courses is required: CRNA Medication Management - Chapters and the NextGenU Health Assessment Resources Certification.
