Opportunity Overview
We are seeking a Project Manager - Commissioning who excels in managing project objectives and guiding tasks to successful completion. This role requires strong relationship-building skills with clients, design teams, and contractors. The ideal candidate will possess excellent organizational abilities and be adept at handling multiple responsibilities simultaneously.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage the commissioning process for both new and existing building projects.
  • Collaborate with senior management to define project scopes and financial plans.
  • Assist clients in articulating their project requirements to facilitate effective design responses.
  • Develop tailored commissioning plans, specifications, checklists, and testing procedures.
  • Engage in testing and verification of building systems.
  • Prepare performance-testing reports and maintain comprehensive records of commissioning activities.
  • Conduct technical evaluations of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Ensure the technical integrity of deliverables, manage schedules, and report on progress and risks.
  • Plan and monitor project timelines and milestones, providing updates to stakeholders as necessary.
  • Facilitate meetings with project stakeholders, ensuring a coordinated approach to commissioning efforts.
  • Foster and maintain client relationships while exploring new market opportunities.
  • Coordinate with other services offered by Smith + Andersen, including energy audits and sustainability certifications.
Candidate Profile:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, architecture, building science, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of experience in building commissioning.
  • Possession of a recognized commissioning designation or the ability to obtain one within the first year of employment.
  • LEED AP designation or the commitment to achieve it within six months of joining.
  • In-depth knowledge of commissioning standards and procedures.
  • Familiarity with HVAC and electrical system design and operation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to meet budgets and deadlines while collaborating effectively with clients.
  • Demonstrated success in managing client relationships.
  • A genuine interest in energy conservation and sustainable design practices.
