The Customer Services department of the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts is seeking a highly motivated and proactive individual to provide exceptional guest service. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising ushering staff to ensure strong, efficient customer service.
This is a part-time, on-call, hourly position that requires a high level of professionalism and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of customer service principles and be able to communicate effectively with patrons.
Key Responsibilities:
- Consistently offer professional, friendly, and engaging service with a focus on excellence patron experience.
- Assist in ensuring that staff dress code is upheld.
- Deal with patron-related issues.
- Assign staff breaks.
- Provide feedback to coordinators with respect to customer comments and concerns and write accurate reports.
- Demonstrate professionalism and act as a representative for the Chan Centre at all times.
- Perform other related tasks as required.
Requirements:
- High school graduation.
- A minimum two years' experience in theatre or a related field.
- Willingness to respect diverse perspectives, including perspectives in conflict with one's own.
- Demonstrates a commitment to enhancing one's own awareness, knowledge, and skills related to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A thorough understanding of Chan Centre policies and procedures.
- Theatre/Concert Hall experience.
- Experience in high-volume establishments.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to deal with a diversity of people in a calm, courteous, and effective manner.
- A team player that is highly motivated and leads by example.
- Ability to provide quality service to customers in a courteous, patient manner.
- Ability to exercise tact, discretion, and patience in dealing with patrons.
- Must be available to work in November, May, and June.
- Ability to cover flexible shift times and respond to on-call demands, including evenings and weekends, an asset.
- Physical ability to perform the duties of the job, such as lifting up to 15kg and standing for long periods of time.
- Ability to work effectively independently and in a team environment.
- Valid First Aid Certificate - Level 1 would be an asset.
