Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Signal Manager to join our team at CP. As a key member of our construction services team, you will be responsible for directing safety leadership and fostering continuous improvement in workplace safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Directs safety leadership and fosters continuous improvement in workplace safety
  • Monitors performance of the construction services delivered and initiates corrective action where appropriate
  • Implements policies, processes, and procedures to improve productivity and efficiency
  • Identifies and recommends innovative work methods, new processes, and best practices
  • Accountable for completion and final documentation of construction projects
  • Liaises with Regulatory agencies for compliance and new installations
  • Manage the work performed and within budgetary guidelines
  • Coach/mentor direct reports to improve their effectiveness, assess personal effectiveness and provide development opportunities
  • Provide input to modify the integrated plan according to adjustments in demand and schedule
  • Fully utilize the collective agreement for effective work management
Requirements
  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Must possess a valid driver's license
  • Bachelor Science Electrical Engineering or Associate of Applied Science in Electronics - Preferred
  • 5 Years of railroad signal Construction/Maintenance experience
  • Working knowledge about railroad signal principles, equipment and dedication to leading safety initiatives
  • Knowledge and comprehension about collective bargaining agreements
  • Knowledgeable about signal standard, code of Federal Regulations Parts 234, 235, 236, and Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices
  • Demonstrated ability in planning, prioritizing, problem solving and analytical skills to execution the plan
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook/Visio)
  • Leadership and strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
  • Sense of urgency with ability to be available for emergency situations
  • Significant travel and overnight stays
  • Demonstrated commitment to regulatory compliance
  • Dedicated to safe, on-time, on budget, quality construction
  • May be required to obtain a certification as a conductor or locomotive engineer
