Job Summary:

Remcan Projects LP is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Signal and Communication Construction Foreperson to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance and construction crew, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing railroad signaling and communications equipment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform moderate to heavy physical labor in a fast-paced environment
  • Install, maintain, and repair railroad signaling and communications equipment
  • Respond to emergencies and track outages
  • Ensure compliance with all company and customer safety policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all aspects of the railway industry and signal operations

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in Railway Construction atmosphere
  • Experience operating heavy equipment on-and-off track (considered an asset)
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license and ability to produce a driver's abstract
  • Knowledge of and recent qualification in Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR)
  • Must pass e-Rail safe Canada certification
  • Able to pass pre-employment medical which includes drug screening
  • Able to demonstrate an ability to work unsupervised as well as in teams
  • Able to work all types of shifts as required
  • Able to work in various weather conditions all year round
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote work locations as required
  • Maintain company safety guidelines & policies at all times
