Culinary Operations Manager

The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Woodland Wellness Centre is currently seeking qualified individuals for the position of Head Cook within the Operations & Maintenance Department.
Position Overview:
The selected candidate will be responsible for overseeing the kitchen's daily operations, ensuring the highest standards of food preparation and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and coordinate kitchen activities, including food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision.
- Provide leadership to kitchen personnel, including recruitment, training, and scheduling to maintain seamless operations.
- Collaborate with team members in the cultivation and harvesting of produce from the Greenhouse to supply fresh ingredients.
- Develop nutritious meal plans and promote healthy eating practices among participants.
- Adhere to traditional food preparation methods, including the handling of wild game for community events and ceremonies.
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards and sanitation protocols to maintain a safe kitchen environment.
- Responsible for procurement of food supplies, managing inventory levels, and optimizing resource allocation.
- Utilize cost management techniques to monitor food expenses and ensure budget adherence.
- Work closely with staff to accommodate special dietary needs, including allergies and religious requirements.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent vocational training.
- At least 2 years of experience in a Head Cook or supervisory role.
- Preferred qualifications include college credits or relevant training in the Hospitality & Food industry.
- Proficient computer skills are essential.
- Flexibility to work various hours, including evenings and weekends.
- Knowledge of the Cree Language is considered an asset.
- Required: Saskatchewan Safe Food Handling Certificate.
- Required: Class 5 Driver License, along with a satisfactory Criminal Record Check/Vulnerable Sector Check, and SGI Driver Abstract.
