About this Opportunity

The Division of Student Affairs at the University of Victoria is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Program Assistant. This role will provide administrative and data support for the International Centre for Students (ICS) Program teams and information and guidance to students, staff, and faculty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the ICS Program teams, including data entry, document processing, and event support.
  • Manage the ICS program's information systems and provide technical assistance as needed.
  • Provide information and guidance to students, staff, and faculty on ICS programs and services.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of ICS programs and services.
  • Collaborate with other departments and units to support the retention and success of international students.
Requirements
  • Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience in a similar position, preferably in a post-secondary or institutional environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with advanced attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficient with the use of computerized systems and software, including MS Office and social media tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with adaptability in order to back up in other areas of responsibility as necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated commitment to valuing the principles of truth, reconciliation, and respect, equity, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working in intercultural organizations or with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of large, complex systems, such as FAST, Banner, or Accordion (Orbis).
