Job Summary:

The District of Saanich is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Program Leader I to join our Youth Services team. As a Program Leader I, you will be responsible for planning and leading programs and services for youth in our community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and lead programs and services for youth in our community
  • Work cooperatively with youth participants, their families, and coworkers to ensure a positive and safe environment
  • Maintain program sites and implement safe work practices
  • Lead well-organized activities and ensure the enjoyment and safety of all participants

Requirements:

  • Completion of Grade 10
  • Three months of experience working with participants in a recreational or instructional setting
  • Satisfactory Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector (PIC-VS) check no older than 6 months
  • Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C certification

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with youth and ability to be inclusive and flexible
  • Demonstrated customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of enthusiasm and personal motivation

Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work varying shifts, including weekends, after-school, and evenings. Candidates should be available to work a minimum of 3 hours per week. Shift hours and location may vary depending on program registration.
