Position Overview:

As the Senior Program Coordinator, you will utilize your managerial expertise to oversee the volunteer program leaders and enhance the older adult Social Drop-In initiatives across multiple recreation facilities. This role entails being present during program activities, facilitating training sessions, orchestrating program development, managing procurement of materials, securing venue reservations, engaging with the target demographic, preparing comprehensive reports, and analyzing participation data. You will also be responsible for marketing efforts and other essential tasks to guarantee the delivery of a superior program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and support volunteer program leaders.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants and volunteers.
  • Conduct training and development sessions for staff and volunteers.
  • Plan and implement engaging programs for older adults.
  • Manage logistics including equipment purchasing and facility bookings.
  • Prepare and present reports on program outcomes and statistics.
  • Engage in outreach to the target population to promote participation.

Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a high school diploma and have a minimum of six months of experience in program development and administration, particularly in a recreational context involving older adults. Experience in supervising staff is essential. A satisfactory police information check conducted within the last six months, along with certifications in Emergency First-Aid and CPR-C, is required. Proficiency in computer applications, including word processing and spreadsheet software, is also necessary.

Work Schedule:

The successful candidate will be expected to work flexible hours, primarily on weekdays between 8:00 AM and 4:30 PM. Preference will be given to those available during specific morning and afternoon shifts. Additional hours may vary based on seasonal demands.
