About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel and suites.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Industrial Equipment: Safely operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove debris and other refuse, and wash windows, interior walls, and ceilings.
  • Maintenance and Repairs: Make adjustments and minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Grounds Maintenance: Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
  • Winter Maintenance: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas.
  • General Maintenance: Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
Work Environment

As a Building Maintenance Worker, you will work in a fast-paced hotel environment, interacting with guests and staff. You will be required to work in all weather conditions and be physically demanding.

Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a similar role.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Schedule: 30 to 40 hours per week.
