About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel and grounds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweeping and Cleaning: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment for our guests.
  • Waste Management: Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent litter and maintain a clean atmosphere.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing, and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Appliance Maintenance: Perform minor repairs on appliances to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Safety and Security: Perform safety and security checks to ensure the hotel and grounds are secure and free from hazards.
  • Moving and Storage: Move heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Routine Maintenance: Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair.
  • Work Environment: Work with minimal supervision and be able to work independently.
  • Seasonal Tasks: Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas during winter months.
