About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Hampton Inn & Homewood Suites Halifax. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and maintenance of our hotel and resort.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs to maintain a clean and safe environment for our guests.
  • Empty trash cans and other waste containers to prevent odors and maintain a clean appearance.
  • Perform minor repairs to heating, cooling, ventilation, plumbing and electrical systems, and contact tradespersons for major repairs.
  • Make adjustments to appliances and equipment to ensure they are functioning properly.
  • Perform safety and security checks to identify and address potential hazards.
  • Move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies to maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Perform other routine maintenance jobs such as painting and drywall repair to maintain the appearance of our hotel and resort.
  • Work with minimal supervision to demonstrate your independence and self-motivation.
  • Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas to ensure safe access for our guests.
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Health benefits including a health care plan and paramedical services coverage.
  • Financial benefits as per collective agreement.
