Job Overview

The Operations Analyst will support the equity clearing and option clearing teams through various reconciliation tasks. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that trades are settled on the trade date plus one for both product lines and will assist in daily risk mitigation efforts. Accuracy in transaction processing and timely handling of items is essential.

At RBC's Capital Markets, we are seeking a dedicated business graduate to join our Global Operations team. This division serves as the operational backbone of Capital Markets trading activities, overseeing post-execution trade processing and maintaining controls throughout the trade life cycle. In this position, you will conduct daily reconciliations of equity trades reported by various exchanges and brokers against our internal records. All discrepancies must be thoroughly investigated and addressed with the appropriate business units or traders. Adjustments will be made to rectify any discrepancies, ensuring reconciliations are completed by settlement dates to maintain balance.

Your Responsibilities Include:

  • Adhering to all departmental policies and procedures
  • Identifying, reporting, monitoring, and resolving trade reconciliation exceptions promptly
  • Booking trades to ADP to clear discrepancies
  • Employing problem-solving skills and critical thinking under time constraints
  • Continuously analyzing departmental processes to enhance efficiency
  • Effectively managing relationships with teams across Canada and the US
  • Handling Trade Breaks and ADP P&S Workflow

What You Need to Succeed:

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively within a team
  • Proficient in prioritizing tasks, managing multiple responsibilities, and taking initiative

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in Equity Back Office or Trade Support
  • Familiarity with ADP functions, including MRGN, CCXR, NEWB, and Reports Online
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong commitment to tasks with a keen attention to detail
