Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Capital Markets Business Operations Specialist to join our team at Royal Bank of Canada. As a key member of our business unit, you will be responsible for supporting the operational activities of our Capital Markets division.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the processing of corporate actions for North American and EMEA trading accounts, including equities, fixed income, and equity/index options.
  • Be responsible for mandatory corporate actions processing and reconciliation within our Sophis system, including mergers, tenders, conversions, cash dividends, stock splits, and other events.
  • Process and reconcile all voluntary corporate actions, including reviewing voluntary offer notifications and reconciling receivables, payables, and position balances.
  • Process and reconcile all equity and index options exercises, assignments, and expirations within Sophis.
  • Review and process option notices from the OCC and CDS related to adjustments due to corporate actions.
  • Resolve claims with external counterparties and reconcile position/cash breaks between ICI-Impact and depository systems.
  • Support other Asset Servicing functions as necessary.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Economics, Finance, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Product knowledge of equities, fixed income, and equity/index options.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in basic MS Excel functionality and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and query data, with an inherent sense of ownership and initiative.
  • Excellent communication skills, with clear and concise oral, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to comprehend and document complex business requirements.
