Welding Assistant

\t\tKey Responsibilities
\t
\t
\t\t- Support tradespeople, supervisors, and general foremen in ensuring project progress in a safe and efficient manner.
\t\t - Stay up-to-date with new equipment and tools, and participate in training programs as needed.
\t\t - Operate cutting saws and small tools in the department, maintaining them in good working order.
\t\t - Assist with inventory management, unloading products, and loading finished goods for delivery.
\t\t - Contribute to shop hygiene and 5-S programs.
\t\t - Inspect large equipment and report any malfunctions to supervisors.
\t\t - Report any unsafe conditions, practices, or procedures to supervisors.
\t\t - May be required to operate forklifts or overhead cranes if trained and authorized.
\t\t - Perform all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls' safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act.

\t\tRequirements

\t\t- High school diploma or equivalent education (additional education or apprenticeship programs are preferred).
\t\t - Experience with safe practices, procedures, and processes associated with manufacturing.

\t\tWorking Conditions

\t\t- Commercial/industrial environment.
\t\t - Manual dexterity required for tool use.
\t\t - Exercise caution due to naturally occurring hazards.
\t\t - Adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).
\t\t - Long periods of standing.
\t\t - Overtime as required.
