Job Summary

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Payroll Administrator to join our team at Northeast Engineering and Development ltd. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our payroll processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Payroll Processing
    • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payment to employees.
    • Prepare statements of earnings for employees, including gross and net salaries, deductions, and benefits.
  • Financial Data Management
    • Store, update, and retrieve financial data, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Human Resources Support
    • Perform human resources-related duties, including personnel selection, recruitment, and onboarding.
  • Reporting and Analysis
    • Prepare and balance period-end reports, reconciling issued payrolls to bank statements.
    • Prepare monthly statements, providing insights into financial performance and trends.
  • Benefits Administration
    • Complete and submit documentation for the administration of benefits, including pension plans, leaves, share savings, employment, and medical insurance.
  • Employee Communication
    • Inform employees about payroll matters and benefit plans, ensuring clear understanding and compliance.
  • Record Keeping
    • Maintain accurate records of employee attendance, leave, and overtime, using manual or computerized systems.
  • Compliance and Regulatory
    • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards, maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Requirements
  • Education
    • College/CEGEP degree in a related field, such as finance, accounting, or business administration.
  • Experience
    • At least 1 to less than 7 months of experience in payroll administration, financial operations, or a related field.
  • Personal Qualities
    • Accurate and detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and time management skills.
    • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information to employees and management.
    • Reliable and team-oriented, with a strong commitment to customer service and employee satisfaction.
