We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Technologist to join our team at the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority. As a Medical Technologist, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our diagnostic imaging and clinical laboratory services.
Key Responsibilities- Perform a variety of medical laboratory tests and procedures to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
- Operate and maintain complex medical equipment, including imaging and laboratory devices.
- Collect and analyze patient samples, including blood, urine, and tissue specimens.
- Interpret test results and provide accurate and timely reporting to healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and effective communication.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and maintain accurate records and documentation.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Radiography program with attained certification by CAMRT - OR.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Laboratory Technology program with attained certification by CSMLS.
- Graduate of an approved Laboratory or Radiology Assistant Program.
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Imaging Technology Program, eligible for registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) and registration with the Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) within three months of hire.
- Must maintain current licensing with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Manitoba (CMLTM).
- Previous related experience preferred.
- Windows computer environment required.
- Microsoft Office programs preferred.
- Follow oral and written instructions precisely with attention to detail.
- Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills required in English.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a team member.
- Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills with ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships in a multi-disciplinary team environment and with external agencies, groups and the public required.
- Proficient analytical skills.
- Work under pressure.
- Maintains confidentiality with all information entrusted to the position.
- Fluent language skills (written and oral) in both French and English may be required.
- Ability to perform duties as described.
- Mental and physical health necessary to meet the demands of the job required.
