About the Role:

The Back of House Supervisor plays a pivotal role in ensuring the timely and efficient preparation of high-quality culinary creations. This position demands a proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced kitchen environment while adhering to strict safety and sanitation protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily food preparation in various kitchen stations.
  • Demonstrate proficient knife skills and kitchen equipment usage.
  • Set up workstations according to established guidelines.
  • Prepare food items promptly and in accordance with hygiene standards.
  • Adhere to recipes and portion control measures to maintain quality.
  • Restock supplies as necessary throughout the shift.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area.
  • Assist in the overall sanitation and orderliness of storage spaces.
  • Support the Chef and Sous Chef with additional tasks as required.
  • Prepare meals accommodating dietary restrictions and allergies.
  • Ensure food safety by implementing standard sanitation practices.
  • Work efficiently to meet meal preparation timelines.
  • Demonstrate flexibility by covering shifts as needed.
  • Report any incidents or safety concerns promptly.
  • Follow all health regulations and safety protocols.
  • Ensure proper serving sizes and temperatures for all dishes.
  • Arrive punctually for scheduled shifts.
  • Lead by example and mentor junior staff.
  • Execute cleaning schedules diligently.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Preferred professional diploma in food services management.
  • Minimum of one year of culinary experience.
  • Knowledge of food trends, quality control, and sanitation practices.
  • Understanding of safe food handling procedures.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective teamwork and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and time management skills.
  • Problem-solving capabilities and a strong work ethic.

Work Environment:

  • Position requires standing for extended periods.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures and kitchen conditions.
  • Ability to transport heavy items as needed.
  • Manual dexterity is essential for using kitchen tools.
