About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a Healthcare Support Specialist to join our team. As a Healthcare Support Specialist, you will work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or another regulated healthcare professional to provide non-direct and/or non-clinical healthcare supports to clients, residents, families, and/or visitors in long term care, assisted living and home settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform a variety of non-direct and/or non-clinical healthcare supports to clients, residents, families, and/or visitors in accordance with the established care plan and safety requirements.
  • Work under the direction of a Registered Nurse or another regulated healthcare professional.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with clients, residents, families, and/or visitors.
Requirements
  • English 10 completion or equivalent for applicants with three years of full-time instruction in English.
  • Standardized English language proficiency test score for applicants with less than three years of full-time instruction in English.
  • Valid BC Driver's License.
  • Ability to travel locally using a personal vehicle.
