Banquet Manager Job Description

At JC's Grill House, we are seeking a highly skilled and organized Banquet Manager to join our team. As a key member of our events team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth execution of banquets and events, providing exceptional customer service, and maintaining a high level of quality in all aspects of our operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms
  • Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to team members
  • Cost products and services, ensuring optimal profitability
  • Enforce provincial/territorial liquor legislation and regulations, maintaining a safe and responsible environment
  • Organize and maintain inventory, ensuring timely restocking and minimizing waste
  • Ensure health and safety regulations are followed, maintaining a clean and safe working environment
  • Negotiate arrangements with suppliers for food and other supplies, securing the best possible deals
  • Negotiate with clients for catering or use of facilities, building strong relationships and driving revenue growth
  • Lead and instruct individuals, developing and mentoring team members to achieve their full potential
  • Address customers' complaints or concerns, providing prompt and effective resolutions
  • Provide exceptional customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all guests
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations, driving efficiency and productivity
Requirements:
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
  • 3-4 years of experience in a related field, preferably in a banquet or events management role
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, staff, and suppliers
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handling multiple tasks and responsibilities simultaneously
  • Physical stamina to handle heavy loads and work in a dynamic environment
Working Conditions:

  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting, with occasional heavy lifting required

Experience:
  • 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, preferably in a banquet or events management role
