The BA Blacktop Group of Companies is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to support our financial operations.

The Accounts Payable Clerk will undertake accounting and administrative responsibilities that guarantee precise handling of financial data.

Primary Responsibilities:

All responsibilities necessitate a high degree of precision to ensure the accurate management of information.

  • Processing accounts payable invoices: verifying packing slips and invoices, securing approvals, data entry, organizing files, preparing vendor payments, executing payment runs, and performing account reconciliations.
  • Addressing inquiries related to accounts payable.
  • Providing assistance with reception duties as needed.
  • Additional tasks: executing journal entries, supplying data for budgeting, ensuring correct tax applications, offering information and support to other departments, and performing various clerical tasks as required.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a comparable position.
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate information processing.
  • Intermediate proficiency in computer applications (including MS Office, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
  • Capability to utilize enterprise-level financial record-keeping software, spreadsheets, and email platforms.
  • Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Capacity to manage a high volume of work while meeting deadlines.
  • Outstanding organizational and time management abilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities.
  • Solid understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Completion of post-secondary accounting courses.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience in construction or manufacturing sectors.
  • Proficiency in English and MS Office applications.
  • High level of accuracy and meticulousness.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration.
