Warehouse Temperature Control Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Refrigeration Operator to join our team at Lineage Logistics. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient operation of our refrigeration equipment, ensuring that our warehouse remains at the optimal temperature for storing perishable goods.
Key Responsibilities- Health and Safety Leadership: Provide leadership and support for health and safety initiatives within the department, promoting a culture where safety is the top priority.
- Equipment Maintenance: Perform daily checks on refrigeration equipment, making necessary repairs or adjustments to ensure optimal performance.
- Warehouse Tours: Conduct regular tours of the warehouse to ensure that the building is safe and supports warehouse activities.
- Preventative Maintenance: Follow preventative maintenance programs to minimize disruptions in warehouse operations.
- Equipment Optimization: Make recommendations to the Chief Operating Engineer and General Manager on programs and equipment to improve efficiency and meet ongoing customer requirements.
- Utility Cost Management: Monitor and adjust equipment to lower utility costs.
- Technology Operations: Operate various warehouse management technology, including CMMS and computerized refrigeration control systems.
- Policy Enforcement: Enforce established safety, health, contamination, and housekeeping policies and procedures to minimize staff injuries, lost production time, damage, and contamination of product.
- Maintenance Activities: Perform other maintenance activities such as door repair, floor repairs, and other general building repairs.
- Additional Responsibilities: Participate in other initiatives, projects, and duties as assigned.
- Experience: Experience with building repairs and general maintenance duties, mechanical aptitude is an asset.
- Availability: Weekends will be required as business dictates, willing to work flexible shifts as required, and respond to after-hours call outs.
- On-Call Rotation: On-call rotation requirement.
- Certifications: 5th Class Power Engineer or Refrigeration Operator Ticket (required).
- Knowledge: Knowledge of provincial regulations regarding operating engineering and refrigeration, elevating devices, building and fire code, local bylaws, environmental, labour, and health and safety legislation.
- Ability: Ability to work in temperatures of -30 degrees Celsius.
