Position Overview

Salary Range - $55,000 Plus Profit Sharing

As a Field Sales Account Executive, your primary responsibility will be to cultivate enduring, ethical client relationships aimed at maximizing profitable sales for each account, thereby enhancing profit sharing at the Profit Centre. You will play a crucial role in understanding the client's business and requirements, ensuring our position as their main supplier.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct visits to client offices, workshops, and job sites to evaluate their operations, comprehend their needs, and foster robust relationships to generate and finalize profitable sales.
  • Identify and prospect new clients, notifying the Profit Centre Manager and Credit Team of potential opportunities.
  • Take charge of the sales process, which includes generating sales call reports, planning territories, and setting growth objectives.
  • Analyze client data to develop and implement strategies that profitably increase market share while achieving and surpassing targets established at the Profit Centre.
  • Handle orders, quotes, job packages, and any other necessary sales functions.
  • Investigate and resolve client issues; manage short payments and returns promptly to exceed client expectations and benefit the Profit Centre.
  • Collaborate with the Profit Centre Manager and Credit Team to ensure timely payment of all accounts receivable and communicate any changes in the client's business that may impact credit standing.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of strategic vendor programs aimed at profitably expanding the business; participate in vendor trade shows and industry conventions.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations at client locations as well as at the Profit Centre.
  • Support Customer Service Representatives and all Profit Centre activities as part of the Profit Centre team.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the Profit Centre Manager.

Qualifications:

  • College and/or University degree.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in external sales or account management.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Exceptional customer service and verbal communication skills.
  • Motivated to continually identify and pursue new clients and profitably increase market share for each assigned account.
  • Ability to acquire comprehensive knowledge of products and value-added services.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills with clients, vendors, and colleagues.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision while managing tight deadlines across multiple projects.
  • Capability to learn and operate the relevant software systems used for order processing.
  • Intermediate math skills; able to learn to operate material handling equipment.
  • Previous experience with or knowledge of waterworks and septic products sold at the Profit Centre.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with M3 and Eclipse software.
