Become a vital member of our team at BC Women's Hospital & Health Centre, located in the vibrant city of Vancouver, BC.
Are you detail-oriented and highly organized? We invite you to be part of our diverse clerical team dedicated to delivering exceptional care in one of Canada's busiest maternity facilities.
Our Labour and Delivery department operates on a rotating schedule, providing services 7 days a week with 12-hour shifts.
BC Women's Hospital + Health Centre (BCW) is committed to offering comprehensive maternity care and various programs aimed at improving the health of women, newborns, and their families.
We are seeking Unit Clerks who are eager for professional development and wish to contribute to our dedicated team.
Responsibilities of the Unit Clerks include:
- Managing phone communications, taking messages, and conveying information to the appropriate staff.
- Inputting patient data into the system for discharges and transfers.
- Coordinating patient procedures within and outside the facility.
- Accurately transcribing and processing physicians' orders.
- Maintaining and organizing patient records and charts.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma.
- Completion of a Nursing Unit Clerk program.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Relevant experience or a combination of education and training.
Additional Skills:
- Typing proficiency of at least 40 words per minute.
- Strong communication abilities.
- Capacity to collaborate effectively with others.
- Experience with various computer software applications.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Physical capability to perform job duties.
