Art Director Job Description

Behaviour Interactive, the largest Canadian gaming studio, is seeking an experienced Art Director to join our team. As an Art Director, you will be responsible for leading our internal artistic teams and working closely with external partners to deliver high-quality artistic visions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the artistic vision for our projects, ensuring consistency and quality.
  • Lead and supervise internal artistic teams, guiding them to achieve exceptional results.
  • Collaborate with the creative director, designers, programmers, and external suppliers to ensure the highest quality artistic vision.
  • Actively participate in game pitches and the elaboration of artistic concepts.
  • Guide team members, freelancers, and external studio teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Approve and participate in the creation of visual elements, defining quality standards and content structure.
  • Maintain demographic and psychographic consumer awareness, taking into account the latest market trends.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor of Arts or equivalent experience.
  • At least five years of experience as an Art Director or Lead Artist, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality titles.
  • Experience in creating original intellectual properties in a video game context.
  • Mastery of Photoshop, knowledge of Maya, and experience working with a game engine.
  • Excellent innovation and communication skills, with a strong understanding of the creative process.
  • Proficiency in French and English, both oral and written.
