Position Overview

The Government of Manitoba is actively seeking experienced professionals to fill multiple Senior Policy Analyst roles within the Department of Families. These positions are integral to enhancing the quality of life for residents by ensuring the safety and well-being of children, families, and communities through effective policy development and implementation.

Role Responsibilities

The Senior Policy Analysts will:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis to inform policy decisions.
  • Review and provide recommendations on existing policies, programs, and legislative frameworks.
  • Prepare comprehensive materials, including briefing notes and reports, to support decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders to lead complex projects.
  • Offer high-level guidance on financial and legal implications related to policy initiatives.

Qualifications Required

Candidates must possess:
  • A post-secondary degree in social sciences, public administration, law, economics, education, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in policy research, development, or evaluation, preferably in a public sector context.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize information from various sources.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in preparing documents for diverse audiences.
  • Political acumen and the ability to handle sensitive information appropriately.

Preferred Qualifications

Ideal candidates will also have:
  • Experience working within Indigenous communities and a solid understanding of reconciliation principles.
  • Personal or professional experience that provides insight into the challenges faced by individuals served by the Department of Families.
