Job Title: Policy Analyst

The Manitoba Métis Federation (MMF) is seeking a highly skilled Policy Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in the operation of the Engagement and Consultation process, ensuring that the rights, interests, and claims of the Red River Métis are protected and advanced.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and analysis on policy-related matters, providing informed recommendations to senior leadership;
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Proponents, Governments, and other stakeholders, facilitating engagement and consultation on key issues;
  • Collaborate with MMF departments, affiliates, and regions to ensure effective communication and coordination;
  • Provide policy and program development support, ensuring alignment with MMF's strategic objectives;
  • Attend meetings and maintain internal records of engagement and consultation activities;
  • Plan and present information at community meetings, promoting the interests of the Red River Métis.
Requirements:
  • Post-secondary education in communications, indigenous studies, social or environmental sciences, natural resources management, or a related field;
  • Experience in policy and program development, with a strong understanding of consultation and engagement processes;
  • Excellent public speaking, verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with experience in budgeting, financial tracking, and reporting;
  • Bilingualism is an asset, with knowledge of Métis culture and MMF programs and services a definite advantage;
  • Ability to travel, with a valid Manitoba Driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
