POSITION OVERVIEW:
In this role, reporting directly to the Director of Credit, the Senior Credit Risk Analyst leverages their vast expertise in international business credit risk to support our Accounts Receivable (AR) operations. The primary objective is to enhance our credit risk performance, thereby optimizing cash flow and reducing the incidence of bad debt. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, alongside adept change management and collaboration skills to ensure that our key stakeholders are well-informed and aligned with our policies, processes, and decisions. Integration is integral to our operations, and you will be expected to adopt a best practice approach to achieve seamless execution in every integration effort.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in the formulation and implementation of credit risk strategies and solutions, including researching leading automation practices for credit approval processes;
- Collaborate with leadership and AR colleagues to maintain and enhance credit granting and collection processes to maximize cash collection and minimize bad debt;
- Partner with Sales and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery on our credit approval cycle times and service level agreements (SLAs);
- Evaluate and approve payment term requests as necessary;
- Support Sales and key stakeholders by facilitating timely discussions regarding credit requests that are not approved, providing alternative credit limit recommendations that balance revenue generation with the protection of our AR assets;
- Utilize established account monitoring systems and tools to assess a customer's financial standing, including a thorough analysis of their financial statements, ensuring that any significant changes in their financial condition are promptly identified and addressed to mitigate bad debt risk;
- Assist in Acquisition Integration initiatives as directed by your leader;
- Collaborate with stakeholders and partners to refine our credit risk and approval strategies to foster revenue growth;
- Contribute to various projects and initiatives as assigned to uphold best-in-class processes and practices within the Credit Risk function.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Finance from an accredited institution;
- CPP Designation;
- Completion or enrollment in a CCP or Accounting Designation program is considered an asset.
Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of commercial credit experience, ideally within a global software services or high-tech environment;
- Proven track record of successfully influencing change in Credit Risk understanding;
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, particularly in interactions with Sales and external customers;
- Strong foundational knowledge of accounting principles, with demonstrated success in evaluating corporate financial statements to establish Credit Risk parameters;
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a history of managing multiple priorities effectively;
- Proficient in SAP, Microsoft Office Suite, and Salesforce;
- A self-starter with a mindset geared towards continuous improvement;
- A collaborative team player, recognizing the value of teamwork in problem-solving;
- Demonstrated ability to foster a culture of learning among peers and assist them in adapting to a continuously evolving environment;
- Bilingual capabilities are considered an asset.
