Community Recreation Programs Manager

About the Role:
The City of Mount Pearl is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our Community Recreation Programs. As a key member of our Management Team, you will be responsible for planning, developing, and overseeing a wide range of programs and services that promote community engagement, recreation, and leisure activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement programs that meet the needs of the community, including sport, recreation, event, culture, youth, and leisure activities.
- Provide leadership to employees and develop policies and procedures to ensure effective program delivery.
- Monitor and evaluate operating and capital budgets, and assess risk management practices for all related programs.
- Ensure healthy and safe program offerings that meet the needs of our diverse community.
- Liaise with other City departments, divisions, and outside agencies to further the interests of our citizens.
Requirements:
- Significant years of experience in progressively more responsible leadership roles in community and recreation programming.
- Completion of a degree in Recreation Management or an equivalent combination of experience and training acceptable to the City.
