About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Supervisor, Park Ranger Service to join our team at the District of North Vancouver. As a key member of our Parks Department, you will be responsible for supervising and directing the day-to-day operations of our park rangers team, ensuring safe and effective park services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct the park rangers team, ensuring compliance with regulations and bylaws.
  • Develop and implement operational plans, policies, and procedures to ensure safe and effective park services.
  • Oversee public education and engagement initiatives to promote positive relationships with park visitors, public safety, and environmental protection.
  • Conduct regular patrols, investigate complaints, and enforce bylaws and regulations with tact and impartiality.
  • Coordinate emergency response protocols and ensure rapid assessment and assistance.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, external agencies, and the public.
Requirements
  • Diploma in natural resource management, environmental science, or a related field, supplemented by training in regulatory enforcement and emergency response.
  • Considerable experience in regulatory enforcement, including leadership or supervisory experience.
  • Level 1 First Aid Certification, CPR certification, and a valid Class 5 BC Driver's Licence.
