Director of Life Enrichment

Welcome to Southbridge Care Homes, where we strive to provide exceptional care and services to our residents. We are currently seeking a compassionate and energetic individual to join our team as a Director of Life Enrichment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement programs that promote the Residents' Bill of Rights.
  • Collaborate with staff to create engaging and inclusive activities for residents.
  • Manage departmental budgets and supplies, ensuring efficient use of resources.
  • Research and gather information on available grants and community resources.
  • Conduct timely and individualized resident assessments and profiles.
  • Demonstrate cultural sensitivity in all interactions with residents, staff, and families.
  • Supervise and motivate recreation staff, evaluating their performance to ensure high-quality service.
  • Communicate departmental activities to residents, staff, families, and the community.
  • Coordinate volunteer programs, including recruitment, orientation, and evaluation.
  • Facilitate Residents' Council activities in accordance with legislative requirements.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, or a related field.
  • Experience in long-term care, developing and leading programs for residents with varied physical and cognitive abilities.
  • Knowledge of community resources and ability to relate to them in a professional manner.
  • Commitment to ongoing education to meet residents' needs and legislative requirements.
  • Strong computer skills and knowledge of technology, including virtual and remote communication tools.
