Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Director of Life Enrichment to join our team at Southbridge Care Homes. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for developing and implementing programs that promote the physical, emotional, and social well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development: Create and implement engaging programs that cater to the diverse needs and interests of our residents, including those with physical and cognitive disabilities.
  • Staff Supervision: Supervise and motivate a team of recreation staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the delivery of high-quality programs.
  • Volunteer Management: Coordinate the volunteer program, recruiting, orienting, and directing volunteers to support the delivery of programs and services.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with residents, staff, families, and the community to promote programs and services, and to encourage participation.
  • Budget Management: Manage departmental budgets, ensuring effective use of resources to deliver programs and services.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness, making recommendations for improvement to ensure the highest quality of care.
Requirements
  • Education: Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in long-term care, with a focus on program development and delivery.
  • Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. Proficiency in computer software, including programming for virtual communications.
