About the Opportunity

We're seeking a motivated engineering student to join our Manufacturing Technology and Equipment (MTE) Engineering team in St. Brieux, SK. This position would begin in either January or May 2025 for a 12 or 16-month term.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support for manufacturing equipment, including programming when required
  • Develop and document standard work instructions for manufacturing equipment
  • Gauge performance of manufacturing equipment, eliminate waste, and suggest/implement improvements as needed
  • Conduct time studies to develop base times or evaluate processes
  • Develop Autonomous Maintenance (AM) and Preventative Maintenance (PM) for key pieces of equipment
  • Work with the maintenance team to troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Work with equipment vendors to get external technical support and source replacement parts in a timely manner
  • Design equipment or tooling to improve safety, quality, and productivity or cost issues
  • Implement changes to products due to manufacturing improvements or design changes
  • Actively participate in the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)
About You

To qualify, you will need to be enrolled in an engineering program (mechanical or industrial focus is preferred) and be eligible for your college's internship/co-op program.

The following qualifications will be needed to successfully perform this role:

  • Knowledge of and interest in current manufacturing technologies
  • Understanding of lean methodology and continuous improvements methods
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to think critically and analytically
  • Strong organizational skills with a high level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Willing to (temporarily) relocate to St. Brieux, SK
  • Enjoy getting your hands dirty and working in a self-directed environment
