Job Summary:

Parsons Oman is seeking an experienced Senior Track Engineer to join our Rail and Transit division as a Track Engineering Design Lead. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in track design for large-scale transit projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and lead the design and alignment of track infrastructure for various transit systems using advanced design software.
  2. Responsible for leading internal Designers and Engineers with a primary focus on managing the track design and resolving technical challenges to reach a design solution that meets all requirements.
  3. Prepare detailed engineering design plans, technical reports, specifications, and cost estimates, and present to internal and external stakeholders.
  4. Ensure effective design coordination across disciplines and participate in design coordination meetings to address critical issues.
  5. Mentor and develop junior-intermediate track staff, providing functional guidance and support to enhance technical and non-technical skills.
  6. Review and approve shop drawings and technical documentation, implementing railway systems and procedures to ensure cost-effective, high-quality, and safe project delivery.
  7. Contribute to proposal preparation, develop and verify technical scopes, and assist with budget and schedule planning and management.
  8. Lead the Project Team to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality rail transportation projects on time, meeting client expectations and objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Civil Engineering typically preferred);
  2. Designation as a Professional Engineer in Oman;
  3. 8+ years experience with track design engineering for large-scale rail transit systems including Class I Railways, LRT, or Commuter Rail;
  4. Demonstrated experience in the design of rail alignments, special trackwork, junctions, yards, and facilities;
  5. Experience in design-build contract delivery is an asset;
  6. Detailed understanding of local authorities' codes and design standards;
  7. Strong capabilities in advanced design software, including AutoCAD Civil3D and OpenRail Designer;
  8. Demonstrated experience on large-scale interdisciplinary projects with track design leadership responsibilities and interface with civil, utilities, and systems engineering;
  9. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English;
  10. Organizational and mentoring skills;
  11. Ability to work independently with high attention to detail and accuracy in work.
