Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff, including food preparation, portioning, and presentation.
- Train staff in job duties, sanitation, and safety procedures to ensure a safe and healthy work environment.
- Establish methods to meet work schedules and ensure that food and service meet quality control standards.
- Inventory and Supply Chain Management
- Requisition food and kitchen supplies, and maintain records of stock, repairs, sales, and wastage.
- Estimate ingredient and supplies required for meal preparation to minimize waste and optimize inventory.
- Customer Service and Quality Control
- Ensure that food and service meet quality control standards, and address customer complaints or concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Prepare food order summaries for the chef and maintain accurate records of customer feedback.
- Work Environment and Safety
- Ensure that the kitchen is maintained in a clean and safe condition, and that all staff are aware of and adhere to safety procedures.
- Supervise and check assembly of trays, and establish work schedules to ensure efficient use of staff and resources.
- Education and Experience
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a supervisory role in the food service industry.
- Language and Communication
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken.
- Physical Demands
- Ability to stand for extended periods, bend, crouch, kneel, and walk.
- Personal Suitability
- Client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral communication, and flexibility.
The work environment is fast-paced, with tight deadlines and a physically demanding workload. The successful candidate must be able to work under pressure and maintain a high level of productivity in a dynamic environment.
