Position Overview

We are seeking a Lead Security Consultant to enhance our expanding team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Detect security incidents that require monitoring.
  • Provide guidance and assistance to our team throughout all phases of development.
  • Establish essential risk metrics and indicators to systematically assess and report on information-related risks.
  • Identify and categorize risks, then recommend mitigation or remediation strategies.
  • Evaluate the risks associated with various options and propose security solutions that balance potential losses with solution costs.
  • Identify deficiencies in IT compliance controls and oversee the documentation, implementation, and testing of the entire IT compliance control portfolio.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and proactively suggest the adoption of new security practices and technologies when beneficial.
  • Conduct or coordinate application security assessments for project teams.
  • Analyze the outcomes of application security assessments (code scanning, application intrusions, etc.).
  • Educate development teams on application security development standards, methodologies, and tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in information security or a related field, or a combination of equivalent education and experience.
  • 8 to 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, DevOps, or infrastructure teams.
  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in information technology, particularly in information security.
  • Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel and Google.
  • Familiarity with SOAR automation.
  • Experience in User and Entity Behavior Analysis (UEBA).
  • Comprehensive understanding of Kafka.
  • Proficiency in Linux terminal.
  • Security certification is a plus.
  • Strong grasp of application security principles and practices.
  • Solid knowledge of security risks and tools available in AWS or other cloud environments.
  • Experience in a DevSecOps - CI/CD setting.
  • Good understanding of common security vulnerabilities in data and cloud applications, as well as operational techniques from sources like SANS, OWASP Top 10, and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA).
  • Good understanding of common security vulnerabilities in data/AI applications.
  • Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ethical principles and a solid understanding of business and information security ethics.
  • No Canadian work experience is required; however, candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
