Role Overview
We are seeking a Lead Security Consultant to enhance our dynamic team.
Your Responsibilities:
- Detect security incidents that require monitoring.
- Provide guidance and support throughout all development phases.
- Establish and implement key risk metrics to systematically assess and report on information-related risks.
- Identify and categorize risks, then recommend appropriate mitigation or remediation strategies.
- Evaluate the risks associated with various options and propose security solutions that balance potential losses with solution costs.
- Identify deficiencies in IT compliance controls and oversee the documentation, implementation, and testing of the entire IT compliance control framework.
- Stay updated on industry trends and proactively suggest the adoption of new security practices and technologies when beneficial.
- Conduct or coordinate application security assessments for project teams.
- Analyze the outcomes of application security assessments (including code scanning and application penetration tests).
- Educate development teams on application security standards, methodologies, and tools.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in information security or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
- 8 to 10 years of experience in cybersecurity, DevOps, or infrastructure roles.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in information technology, particularly in information security.
- Experience with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel and Google.
- Familiarity with SOAR automation.
- Experience in User and Entity Behavior Analysis (UEBA).
- Strong understanding of Kafka.
- Proficiency in Linux terminal.
- Security certifications are a plus.
- Comprehensive knowledge of application security principles and practices.
- Solid understanding of security risks and tools available in cloud environments like AWS.
- Experience in a DevSecOps - CI/CD environment.
- Good grasp of common security vulnerabilities in data and cloud applications, informed by resources such as SANS, OWASP Top 10, and Cloud Security Alliance (CSA).
- Understanding of security vulnerabilities in data/AI applications.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Strong ethical principles and a solid understanding of business and information security ethics.
- No Canadian work experience is required; however, candidates must be eligible to work in Canada.
