Job Summary

Tiger Calcium Services Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Journeyman Mechanic to join our team as a Lead Hand Mechanic. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for overseeing the operations of our nightshift crew and ensuring the smooth maintenance and repair of our fleet of commercial vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Supervision: Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to mechanics to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Assist mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs, and perform CVIP Inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnose and repair electrical, airbrake mechanical, and hydraulic system failures.
  • Work Order Management: Generate, assign, and review work orders utilizing TMT Fleet Maintenance Software to ensure efficient and effective use of resources.
  • Mentorship and Coaching: Mentor and coach apprentices on the job to enhance their skills and abilities, and support and encourage continuous learning and improvement in work practices.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to and promote Tiger's Safety Management System policies and procedures, and ensure that all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Demonstrate a collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization, and work effectively with others to achieve common goals.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience: Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with CVIP ticket, minimum 5 years' experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a maintenance shop environment.
  • Skills and Knowledge: Experience with Cummins engines, aftertreatment diagnostics, hydraulic systems, Super B trailers, and TMT Fleet Maintenance Software, as well as working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade.
  • Personal Qualities: Ability to supervise crews of 6 or more employees, work independently, and ensure quality completion of multiple projects.
