Job Summary
Modern Niagara is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plumbing Foreperson to lead and support the day-to-day operations of our field teams. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and executing project mechanical system installations to a high level of productivity, managing a field team with a focus on safety, and facilitating a site work culture that leads to productivity and worker engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute project mechanical system installations to a high level of productivity.
- Manage a field team with a focus on safety, ensuring that all team members are trained and equipped to perform their duties safely and efficiently.
- Foster a site work culture that promotes productivity, worker engagement, and a commitment to excellence.
- Coordinate installations with other trades, ensuring seamless integration and timely completion of projects.
- Maintain a high level of customer service, responding promptly to customer needs and concerns.
- Order tools and materials as required to maintain the productive flow of installations and stay ahead of schedule.
- Create, track, and execute a project labor plan, ensuring that all necessary resources are allocated and utilized effectively.
- Perform work-related duties as required, including but not limited to, troubleshooting, problem-solving, and quality control.
Requirements
- Three to five years of experience as a Plumbing Foreperson, with a proven track record of success in leading and managing field teams.
- Red Seal plumbing ticket required, with a strong understanding of plumbing codes and regulations.
- Local 488 membership required, with a commitment to upholding the values and principles of the organization.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with team members, customers, and stakeholders.
- Ability to prioritize and schedule work to get ahead and stay ahead of schedule, with a focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
- Excellent organizational, decision-making, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex problems and develop effective solutions.
- Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and schematics, with a strong understanding of mechanical systems and plumbing codes.
- Customer-focused and resourceful, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service and support.
- Ability to identify and estimate change orders, with a strong understanding of project management principles and practices.
- Knowledge and skill in the use of tools and equipment of the trade, with a strong understanding of safety protocols and procedures.
- Experience in commercial, institutional, and hospital projects is an asset, with a strong understanding of the unique challenges and requirements of these types of projects.
- Knowledge of IPC in Health Care Facilities is considered an asset, with a strong understanding of the regulations and guidelines governing these types of projects.
