Job Summary

Tiger Calcium Services Inc. is seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to oversee the maintenance and repair of our fleet of commercial vehicles. As a Lead Hand Mechanic, you will be responsible for supervising a team of mechanics, providing leadership and mentoring, and ensuring the highest level of quality and safety in our maintenance operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and lead a team of mechanics in the maintenance and repair of commercial vehicles
  • Provide guidance and training to mechanics to enhance their skills and abilities
  • Assist mechanics with troubleshooting and repairs, and generate, assign, and review work orders
  • Perform CVIP Inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnose and repair electrical, airbrake mechanical, and hydraulic system failures
  • Maintain a clean and tidy personal work area and assist with general workshop cleaning duties
  • Adhere to and promote Tiger Calcium's Safety Management System policies and procedures
  • Support and encourage continuous learning and improvement in work practices
  • Perform related work as required, including completing Field Level Hazard Assessments
Requirements
  • Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic with CVIP ticket
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory capacity within a maintenance shop environment
  • Valid Alberta Class 1 Driver's license
  • Experience with Cummins engines, aftertreatment diagnostics, hydraulic systems, Super B trailers, and TMT Fleet Maintenance Software
  • Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power-driven equipment and tools
  • Working knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trade
  • Skilled in the operation of a variety of tools and equipment used in the repair of trucks and heavy equipment
  • Capable of preparing and maintaining accurate records and reports
  • Ability to diagnose and repair electrical, airbrake mechanical, and hydraulic system failures
  • Familiarity with the TMT software application
  • Collaborative communication style at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to supervise crews of 6 or more employees
  • Ability to work independently and ensure quality completion of multiple projects
