WAGE RATE: $27.595 – $28.604

Under the supervision of the Manager and with the support of Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), the Patient Care Assistant (PCA) is responsible for assisting with the essential activities of patient care as outlined in the care plan. The PCA is also tasked with performing various duties that align with the job classification or clinical specialty as needed. This role is vital in fostering an environment that enhances the physical, social, and emotional well-being of patients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from an accredited Community College or equivalent experience and education, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Recent experience in a healthcare environment.
  • Successful completion of corporate Code White training (to be provided).
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Familiarity with Infection Control Practices.
  • Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Exceptional organizational and patient assessment skills.
  • Proficient communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
  • Dedication to ongoing education and professional growth.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts.
  • Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record.
