Under the supervision of the Manager and in collaboration with Registered Nurses (RNs) and Registered Practical Nurses (RPNs), the Healthcare Support Specialist will engage in essential patient care activities as outlined in the established care plan. This role encompasses various responsibilities that align with the job classification and clinical expertise required. The Specialist is dedicated to fostering an environment conducive to the physical, social, and emotional health of patients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from an accredited Community College or equivalent experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in acute care. Valid CPR certification. Recent experience in a healthcare facility. Successful completion of corporate training. Strong written and verbal communication abilities. Knowledge of Infection Control Practices. Capacity to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Exceptional organizational and patient assessment capabilities. Proficient communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills. Commitment to ongoing education and professional growth. Flexibility to work various shifts. Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record. Adherence to Brightshores 'CARE' Behaviours (Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, Excellence) and 'LEAD' Competencies (Lead by example, Empower, Achieve results, Develop others), along with a commitment to maintaining a safe workplace free from violence and harassment.
